Very nice book in color representing passenger series of every American state. But it doesn't show special and recent graphic plates.

Inc. - 420 Jericho Turnpike, Jericho NY 11753 (USA). How to easily decode current American, Mexican and Canadian license plates. Good small book, very useful when traveling in North America, even if reproductions are not real photographs.

• License Plate Values : 5th edition, more than 100 pages. By Bob et Chuck Crisler. Edited by King Publishing Company - P.O. Box 114, Ponchatoula, Louisiana  70454 (USA). This small book, usually provided with the J. Fox book provides an idea of pricing of the American plates, depending on emission year and physical condition. It cost $19.95 by itself.

• The Interpol Guide to Vehicle Registration Plates :Published with Europlate. In full color, about plates from Europe and Middle-east countries, publication June 2000 with updates. Not available anymore

• In french, the Number 5 of "Pour mémoire" by the "Comité d'Histoire" of the MEEDDAT ministry is currently the best historical  reference on french plates, by Francoplaque and Jean Orselli;

• A Century of Plates, a very precise book about italian plates story, by Carlo Bellini,  Marcello Gallina and Marcello Taverna (De Ferarri Editions). Contains photographs, mainly in black and white.
